You can no more claim that this is some elaborate plot at coaxing people into giving them money in the future than you can convince me that Mother Teresa was actually selfish and helped people because deep inside it made her happy.Īnd cooks make food tasty so that you keep coming back for more. They kept patching Starcraft, Diablo, etc years after the revenue was made. You can keep telling yourself that they are ruthless capitalists but it's the company which, AFAIK, has supported its legacy titles longer than any other. ![]() Their efforts at changing the game are motivated by their will to MAKE IT BETTER. Here's my take: Blizzard designed the game with co-op against AI-controlled demons in mind and they simply think people who play alone are having less fun than they could have otherwise. How on earth does that make sense ? Hell - if you play with friends, they may get drops they don't need but you do, give them to you for free, in-game, side-stepping both the gold and money AH, denying Blizzard profit. IMO - they describe things as they see them. are hardly masterful, cold, PR-motivated moves. There is an implicit agreement going on: they keep making excellent games and we keep giving them lots of money. At most they can be considered selfish but not malicious.
